Manna

I Heard an interesting sermon on Sunday and part of it was about manna and how it relates to the Bible.

Manna is a special food that God provided the Israelites when they were wondering in the wilderness.

"And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat." (Exo 16:15)
"And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey." (Exo 16:31)

God's Providence
Manna was a gift from God and every morning the Israelites will have to gather all the manna they need for the day. But the interesting thing is, if the manna is not all finished by the end of the day, it will turn bad and cannot be eaten the next day. This is a great lesson for us to learn. God will always provide for us, but He will provide enough so that we are still humble and faithful in knowing He is the one who provides for us.

God's Creativity
Fascinatingly, manna can be cooked in many many ways. This is truly amazing because it shows God's creativity and He would not want us to get "bored" of his providence. Similarily, God's words comes in many forms: laws (Pentacost), wisdom (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes), praise (Psalms), letters (Romans),...
This is to allow us to have a variety in God's teachings in different situations.

This sermon helped me humble myself and truly thank God for the Bible.
